From 2000 to 2004, I photographed and interviewed children who attend Camp Heartland in Willow River, Minnesota, because they are infected with HIV or have family members living with the virus.
The following images and quotes are part of a larger body of work documenting pediatric AIDS, excerpts of which are traveling as an exhibition and have been published as magazine articles and in the form of a book.
