And now that the debates are over and we are all holding our collective breath: A look back at 2004, and a series of images that still sums up best how watching these hollowed-out spectacles makes me feel. That said, spending the evening of the final debate among a group of engaged, smart, energetic people who are all busily working to make a difference in their community was just what the doctor ordered.  But that’s part of a different series, to be published at some other point.
